French Butter Cookies (also called Madeleines)
Par Laurie le 27 juin 2016, 17:14 - French pastry bites
This recipe appears in one of my stories I'm writing on Fanfiction. It's part of my main character's cookbook.
My aunt, who was named Madeleine too, used to make these when I was a kid. It's one of my fondest memories and like Proust's own little madeleines, those shell-shaped, melt-in-your mouth cookies bring me back to happy times.
Once you've mastered the recipe, you can also try adding chocolate, coffee extract to the dough or even berries, butterscotch.
Soft-baked Cookies
Par Laurie le 27 juin 2016, 17:04 - Cookies and bars
I saw those on my Instagram account the other day, complimentary of Sally's Baking Addiction (yes, her again!). I do have other recipes I often use but wanted to try something new. I know they say curiosity killed the cat but here, curiosity filled my heart with joy ;)
The recipe is made with cranberries and white chocolate. Feel free to use other ingredients and post your creations on Instagram or Twitter so I can see them.
Berry Streusel Bars

Berry Streusel Bars

This is a recipe I made following Sally’s Baking Addiction’s instructions. I did change a few things though, like the filling. Instead of using preserve, I used fresh fruit mixed with jam. Your choice! Anyway, when you have made these, you will need to make more. So addictive!
Bear with me. It’s a long story but it’s in fact very easy to make. Hey, I wouldn’t lie to you, right? ;)
Old-Fashioned Sour Cream Crumb Cake
Par Laurie le 27 juin 2016, 16:38 - Cakes, cupcakes, mugcakes
This recipe comes from Sally's Baking Addiction's blog. It's homely and yummy - everything that warms my heart. I simply used muffin molds instead of making one single cake so I could freeze some and thaw them when needed for my breakfast or to serve with coffee.
Coffee Cupcakes with Buttercream Frosting
Par Laurie le 27 juin 2016, 16:30 - Cupcakes
I have to confess – I'm pro-caffeinated. What more could a girl want but coffee cupcakes to add a little more coffee to her day? ;)
I reckon this was the first recipe I managed to make with buttercream. Yeah! I know some people think it's a tricky one but in fact, it's quite easy. Say focused and everything will be fine!
Lemon Curd Cupcakes
Par Laurie le 27 juin 2016, 16:25 - Cupcakes
These are my very first creation. I had just tried making lemon curd and wanted to create a cupcake that would be inspired by that taste. I ended up using the curd to fill the cupcakes and to make the frosting. The result is both cute and tasty.
English Muffins

Those are probably my only betrayal to my very American diet. Simply cut them in two and spread butter, shortening, marmelade or jelly. Lemon or orange marmelades are perfect with these.
And of course, you'll need these to make eggs benedict, but that's another story.
