Oven Donuts (Sally's Baking Addiction-style)

I tested several recipes but this one is my favorite. It's lighter and very easy to make.

For donuts:

1 cup flour

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1 egg

1/3 cup light brown sugar

1/4 cup buttermilk (whisk 1/4 cup milk with a tsp of lemon juice)

1/4 cup yoghurt

2 Tbsp butter, melted

Mix the first six ingredients.

Whisk the egg, sugar and buttermilk together until smooth.

Add butter and whisk. Do not overmix. Your batter will be quite thick.

Lightly brush the molds with oil and fill them to 3/4 of the way full. Use a piping bag if you want.

Bake for 9 to 10 mn at 350°F. Cool for 2 mn in the molds then transfer to a wire rack and cool completely before adding the topping or glazing (see article on these)

Once you've added the topping or glazing and cooled it completely, oven donuts can be frozen and thawed in the fridge overnight so don't hesitate to make more.
