Fried Green Tomatoes

Summer is coming through (hopefully!) and I found fresh green tomatoes at my local store so guess what? I made fried green tomatoes!
I had been wanting to do this ever since I watched that wonderful movie, back in… phew! Can’t remember! Anyway…
I basically used the same recipe I use for zucchini fries. I baked them so I wouldn’t have to fry them in a pan. They were so good! Sigh…
All right, so basically, you need, tomatoes, sliced, one egg, beaten with a little bit of milk and a mixture of parmesan, breadcrumbs, and your choice of seasoning. Don’t ask me how much I use of each. Be creative!
You just dredge the slices in the beaten egg then coat them with the misture and line them on a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Bake them for 20 mn, 180°C/350°F.
Serve with aioli: mayonnaise, lemon juice, cilantro, salt and pepper or Ranch Dressing.
What you'll need:
green tomatoes, sliced
flour
beaten egg
crumbs
parmesan
seasoning
dressing: aioli or Ranch dressing
Remove the juice and seeds from the tomato slices
Dredge them in flour then dip them in the beaten egg and dredge them in crumbs, parmesan and seasoning.
Cook them for 2 mn on each side.
Serve with Ranch dressing (see recipe for a homemade Ranch Dressing in the Salad and Healthy Stuff category).
