Against Hunger
Action Against Hunger works in over 40 countries to
carry out innovative, lifesaving programmes in nutrition, food security, water
and sanitation, health and advocacy. Every year, our 6,000 aid workers help
over 4 million people worldwide.
¥Nutrition
Our
nutritionists save the lives of severely malnourished children through
emergency interventions and the longer term prevention of malnutrition. They
treat severely malnourished children through feeding programmes and distribute
ready-to-use therapeutic foods to treat malnutrition before it becomes
life-threatening.
¥Water and sanitation
A
community's nutritional well-being requires a lasting supply of clean water and
the knowledge of how to use and care for it properly. We provide access to safe
drinking water by tapping springs, drilling wells and installing water systems.
We also teach the importance of water and sanitation in preventing disease and
train communities to maintain water and sanitation equipment.
Food security
Addressing malnutrition is about much more than just
distributing food. We combine emergency relief with programmes that help
develop dependable sources of income. By providing seeds, tools, training and
income-generating activities, we help vulnerable people regain their
self-sufficiency for the long-term.
¥Health
A
vicious circle exists between disease and malnutrition. A malnourished child is
more vulnerable to diseases than a well-fed child. A sick child, weakened by
illness, often becomes a victim of malnutrition. It is therefore necessary to
fight disease to combat hunger. We set up mother and child health centers to
provide immunisation and pre/post-natal care. Our public health programmes aim
at training medical staff, providing medicine, monitoring and controlling epidemics.

it was a great race. I did 13 laps of the gym and I brought 13 euros. I'm proud of myself.
It was a very difficult race but it was for all the children who are hungry in the world. I think it's a good idea. The teachers encouraged me and I won 14 euros.

For the race against hunger, I ran in the morning at 10 o'clock, in the Cornuel park, in Lardy. It was very tiring but we recovered our strength with a piece of cake that we had after the race. I think that I did eight or nine laps. It was a very good idea and I hope we will do it again next year. Thank you to our teacher for letting us participate. I hope that with this race, many little Africains will improve their health and education.
It was very tiring but it was running for a good cause then we were motivated.
This race was hard but it was dedicated to the children who suffer from hunger that is not to eat. The purpose was not to win it was to be present. The teachers encouraged us to give the best of ourseleves.

I did 10 laps and I brought in 2 euros, it was very difficult .
I struggled to do this race, but I did it for the children in trouble.
I thought it was good because it was not an ordiniry race.

The race against hunger went on very well because I did 9 laps.
The race was difficult because the track was complicated ! I won 114€ !
It was a good race I did 12 laps. I got 12€
Our gymnastic teacher gave us a passeport to find people to sponsor us , for every tour we would do. On Friday 11th May 2012 in the afternoon we ran for one hour for A A H . The more we did the more we brought in money to the association. I did nine laps and I won 72 euros for the association, with the promises of gifts. This money will be sent to Africa to help to feed families. We ran around the new gymnasium of Lardy. The teachers helped us.
I thing the race against hunger was a good idea. It was a good race I did 10 laps. I'm proud of myself. I liked it.
It was a great race because we ran for a good action. I did 9 laps and I won 54 euros. I hope that I will help people who do not have enough to eat.
The race was difficult and exciting . It's a great idea to combine sport and generosity . I enjoyed running to collect some money for poor people .

The race was very good !! The race was hard but I did nine laps. Finally I have collected 67,5 € !!! I think I can help the needy persons and I am satisfied. It was a good idea to make a race to collect some money.

It was a beautiful race , I ran 5 laps for 20 euro.
I dont know how many laps I ran but the race was very long.
I liked the race, I did ten laps it was easy. I had two gotfathers, they gave me ten euros and I was happy and proud.

The race against hunger was good even if I didn't want to do it. I think it is worth running for one hour to bring in some money. I did 12 laps and I won 10 €. I liked it because sometimes we could walk and take some water.
We ran for the Action Against Hunger. I liked it because it was fun. I had 3 godfathers and godmothers (my mother, my uncle and my grand-mother). I ran 8 laps. I brought in 16 euro.
It's nice to do something for people who do not have enough to eat but it was very hard and exhausting.
It was very difficult. I struggled to do this race; I earned 10 euros; Solidarity is strength !
The Action Against Huger is great for the people in trouble, I'm happy I have run for this cause .
