Group 1 : adjectives describing qualities that seem required for making art
In class, we briefly talked about Louis Armstrong, the trumpeter and singer known for being the greatest jazz musician that became more and more famous during the Harlem Renaissance.
You'll find below a Youtube video of one of his live performances, aired/broadcast on TV many decades later (I believe in the 1960s). The song he is performing in the video, entitled "When the Saints Go Marching In" is extremely popular.
There is no homework to do about it and this is not a document that we studied in class: I would just like you to sit & relax to watch the video & enjoy the music !
Please find attached the short texts which deal with the 5 US athletes that shaped history, with the grid you had to fill inthanks to the information collected from the texts.
In class or from home you have to study these three documents and do your best to write down a synthesis, making sure you are able to answer the following questions:
Identify the nature of the documents and introduce them as precisely as possible (title, author, source, date of publishing, etc…)
Identify the topic/theme of each document in detail.
Explain why each document highlights the downward slide of gender selection.
Find in annex the documents concerned to write down the synthesis, (EDIT: and an example of synthesis with connectors/link words.)

After working on the famous peace walls that separate Belfast and its inhabitants, we also worked in class on another type of wall - mural paintings commonly referred to as murals.
