I don't agree with the social point of the topic at all. Reality TV shows aren't making us smarter, they're just making us feel smarter because we are more intelligent than most of people who are in these shows. As this "intelligence" is a complete illusion, people think they're on the top of our society, so they start feeling superior and start bullying people who haven't the same opinion than them. They are making fun of them, because they think they are inferior. This fact can't make our social evolution. It's completely downgrading our society.
Now let's talk about the economical and financial stuff. Obviously, reality TV shows can't solve the crisis we're in, but I can say that this kind of shows really does represent a big part in TV's benefits. A lot of people are watching these shows, especially teenagers and they're making a very big audience each time they're broadcast. You know that big audience means big money. So even if reality TV shows can't contribute to our economical evolution, TV is making a lot ouf money out of them, so they defitively does represent a big part in TV's financal and economical market.

i don't agree with the idea of the TV Shows tend to reflect ourlife style.TV showsare imported from the USA, so how can them reflect our society ? in France we don't have the same show. For exemple, we don't broadcast shows like "Naked and Affraid" because is not our lifestyle. In the USA, it's most easy to create strange programm.
Now let's talk about tha americanization. I agree with this idea. In my mind, the americanization became with the American Way Of Life in the 20th century. So it's already in our society. TV shows tend to contribuate in the americanization of our societies because some TV shows are from the USA.

I understand TV shows to be shows with a presentator or a team of judges, not talk shows and not TV series. Most TV shows are from the US, but it is mainly their concept which is imported. Presentators and participants are local. The prizes are different (usually less important). Much like France has adapted Mc Donald’s hamburgers to French taste, TV shows are adapted to our lifestyles and culture. There are very few shows aired on French TV without adaptation and I do not believe they would have a great success (total wipe-out for example).
The shows do contribute to the Americanisation of our society even if they are adapted. Some concepts are not natural to our culture, one example is The Voice where it is a big show, there is a lot of competition and media exposure. However the Americanisation comes more from US TV series, films and music which are fed to us as-is.

I not agree with this topic.

For exemple, everybody know Nabilla. It's a "celebrity" who comes from reality shows. Her cult sentence, "Non mais âllo quoi? " is famous. This sentence is said everywhere. She has writen a book about that. It's a real phenomenon. But Nabilla isn't a good exemple for the intelligence.
Apart from Nabilla, There are many exemples!
When you wath Tv after school there are most Tv show. The today's society is invaded by the reality TV shows. the Tv show made decline the society.

For the economical stuff, in my mind,the reality Tv shows are only here to entertain. I doesn't see how's that could help France. Of course the producteur earn money but not the society.

Reality TV shows are juste for entertain. The people who particpat are ( For the greater part) not very intelligent. The tv shows aren't miracle cure for the economie.

Unfortunatly i think reality tv shows does contribute to the social and the economical evolution of the society . We know those shows are watched by a major part of the population so it became a source of fame and money. Now reality shows are evrywhere and there is more and more of them , mostly in unates states . In did we can see so many different topics of shows which are Always searching to be the most original . That's why shows like " dating nacked " or "who's my dad ?" Are existing.it became a real buisness and it make a little part of the population ( i'm thinking about the producers for example )raise money for nothing . The other dark side of those shows are the impact on people and particully the teenagers , who are taking the contestants for model . We all see little girl acting like famous woman who has nothing in there head . And we're asking why people are superficial ? Come on this is a part of the anwser.
