Sponsoring, advertising contracts.

I French ads.

1) Zinedine Zidane

He's a famous soccer player and as he has retired, he has a lot advertising contracts. I've chosen this photo because it illustrates well advertising strategies in France. This company, Groupe Générali uses a famous sportman to tell us what their aim is. Here it's an ecological message. ( Aurélien )

  1. Sébastien Chabal

This photo shows a famous rugby player practising his sport with a suit. It's strange but the message in this ad is “Pour un Homme” ; this man looks like a real man, sporty but well dressed. So we can imagine that if you use this perfume, you're a man, a real one ..  ( Hugo )

  1. Gaël Monfils.

This photo is not an ad, but we can see two brand names on it, Nike an Exxon. Those brands use a match to advertise their companies, this sportman is wearing Nike clothes and everybody can see it. This strategy is called Sponsoring. ( Sébastien )

    4. Laure Manaudou.

This ad is about a luxury company and this company has chosen to use a famous swimmer to show that even if a girl is sporty, she could be totally feminine.

II Canadian Ads :

     1) Basket Ball team.

In this picture we can see, the same marketing strategy as with Gael Monfils but this time made by Adidas. The basket-ball players are dressed by Adidas and you can obviously see it.

       2) Ice Hockey.

This is the same strategy as with Gaël Monfils and so, we can say that Canada and France's company has the same strategy. Such an interessting thing..

What we think about champions and advertising in General

We think that,if you sign an advertising contract with a big and famous company, you can earn a lot of money so it's a good thing

but champions are sometimes over-exposed.

Sport for me is...

My favourite sport is...Breakdance

My favourite sport is breakdance because I love street dance and Hip Hop. This sport represents my first ideal activity. This sport is very important for me because it represents one part of my personality. I have chosen these pictures because they are two figures I know. If I practise breakdance, I knowI am very good at this sport. Sometimes, I watch many movies about breakdance and streetdance which are opposite sports. And I enjoy training with my friend Loic.breakdance2.jpg

Sport for me is...

What about sport ?

Sport in general is a part of my life, I think that I wouldn't be able to live without sport. It's really important for me. It's a way to test my limits, you're in your world and you don't care about what the other persons are doing . When I feel that my body is exhausted, it makes me feel good ! After the effort there's pleasure ! I can have some fun with my friends but ... making efforts may be harder than lying on a sofa . THAT is sport for me!

This picture represents a swimmer during a competition. We can see that he's exhausted, out of breath but he'll keep on making efforts to go all the way through ! Indeed, I think sport develops our fighting spirit which is always necessary in real life . It's a way to prepare ourself.

In fact, I've been practising swimming for 6 years, I've done gymnastics, judo and tennis too but swimming is THE real thing for me If I were you, I would try it, swimming is very different from other sports, it's not the same effort : you're in the water, you breathe differently, your whole body works etc ... It's only a piece of advice, of course you can do what do you want to do !

Well, See you!

Sport for me is...

Sport for me is...

Sport for me is a part of life. It is really important to practise sport to keep healthy. I'm not absolutely fond of sport, but I think it's important for us all. Everybody should practise sport, it is really good for our health. I usually practise sport three times a week, sometimes more often. So sport is not the most important thing in my life, but it is not the less important one either.

I've chosen this picture, which represents Handball, because I practise this sport a little.

billere_action_2.jpg

This sport is not really different from Basketball or Soccer. I've chosen this sport because it represents team spirit, competition, games... You can't practise this sport alone, you need other players, you need a team. To win a match you have to score, as with Soccer.

I practise Handball a little and I practise Karate more often. But Karate is not really a sport. I practise Handball once a week, Karate twice a week. I sometimes practise sport at home too.

The "Hockey-Ball"

Ice Hokey

Here are the rules of Ice Hokey :

Object of the Game

  • The objective of the game is to score more goals than the opposite team.

The Teams

  • Each team has six players on the ice, one goal tender and five "skaters".
  • The five skaters have assigned positions: three forwards and two defensemen.
  • Regardless of assigned positions, all players except the goaltender can go anywhere they want on the ice.
  • The goaltender cannot cross the center red line that divides the rink into two halves.

I've selected those pictures because they represent really well the speed and the violence that this sport implies.

An Interwiew of a PE Teacher: Mrs Vandenberg

Interview: Mme VANDENBERG

We went to the gymnasium to meet Mrs. Vandenberg, one of the sport teachers in Le Corbusier.

- Hello ! How are you ?

- Fine, thank you ?

- Can we ask you some questions, please ?

- Of course ! So, what do you want to know ?

- Where were you born ?

- I was born in Cognac, in Charentes, on March, the 18th, in 1978.

- Why have you decided to become a P.E teacher?

- I have decided to become a sport teacher, because I was good at sport, there were possibilities to enter in a sport college, and of course because I love children.

- How did you become it ?

- First, I went to the College, where I passed my license. We were a thousand pupils doing the competition. There were only seven hundred places. There were three examinations tests : two were written and one was oral. Moreover, if you were accepted, you had a last examination to see of you are able to be a teacher or not. Then, you are assign to a school (which is most of the time near Paris), where you are inspected during one year. If you have good marks, you start being a sport teacher.

- What qualities are necessary to be a good sport teacher ?

- You need to be sporty, you must have known some failures, you have to like children, and to be able to understand them and their problems.

- Why did you come to Le Corbusier ?

- I went to Le Corbusier because I have done a training period at La Rochelle, and finally, I have been assigned to Le Corbusier. I did not have the choice.

- Did you meet champions in your life ?

- Yes, I met a lot of champions. For example, I met Loïc Lemarrec and Luc Marqué at the College of Poitiers, who are today famous volley-ball players, and I had the luck to meet all of the volley-ball French team.

- Did you play in a particular sport club ?

- Yes, I practised athletics when I was at school. Then, I did dance during eight years, tennis and judo for three years, and ten years of volley-ball.

- What is your favorite sport ?

- The sport I prefer is volley-ball even if I like all the sports, otherwise I would not have be a sport teacher.

- Did you practise sport at high level ?

- Yes, I've been doing athletics when I was young, because I was pretty good. But, once, I hurt myself, and I stopped.

- Which feelings does sport give to you ?

- Sport give me lots of feelings: pleasure, surpassing of myself and of my limits and doing efforts.

- Do you organize sports associations ?

- Yes, I organize the volley-ball association at Le Corbusier as I have to (three hours a week), and because, as I said earlier, volley-ball is one of my favourite sports.

- So, thank you very much !

- You're welcome !

Now, we know a little more about being a sport teacher. We will as soon as possible put the video of the interview on the site, but it will be in French.

See you later !

Petanque !

Here is a beautiful video about Petanque...         ... Enjoy it !!

Translation of the video :

Pétanque is a game like Bocce, in America. It is practised by 17 million players in France. Here is a wonderful video about this French game...

Julien : Hello, we'll explain to you the rules of Petanque...
Benjamin : Petanque's aim is to put as many boules as possible near the jack ("cochonnet"...)
Xavier : The game is in 13 points. Each player has 3 boules...

Benjamin : Let's go !
Xavier (to Julien) : Ah ! That's bad, Jean-Pierre !
Xavier (to Benjamin) : Ah ! That's well done !
Benjamin : I take the boule...
Xavier : Let's go !
Benjamin : Be careful, I'm going to "pointer" !
Xavier : Come on !
Xavier (to Benjamin) : Whaou ! That's good ! That's good !
Julien : Ah ! I wanted to "tirer", it's not good !
Xavier : Yeah ! That's pretty bad !
Julien : This time, I "pointe", it would be better !
Xavier : Go on !
Xavier (to Julien) : Hey ! Benjamin "te mets la Fanny" !
Xavier : That's a good "nature ball", Benjamin.
Julien (to Benjamin) : Yeah, you won !
Xavier : That's good for Benjamin !

Then, each player introduces himself.

Then, the making-of !

The rest is in English.

Here is the video :

- Tirer : just toss the ball.
- Boule nature : a ball without effects.

Badminton

What is sport for me ?

Sport is pleasure, I LOVE it ! It's very important for me because it relaxes me. Sometimes I have spent a bad day at school; I go to my training session, and after that I'm relaxed and I'm in great shape! Sport allows me to expend, that's why, in the evening after having practised a sport, I sleep very well !

I have chosen this first picture, because, in my opinion, it illustrates very well what sport implies : a friendly and competitive mind. You must concentrate on what you are doing, but you can laugh with your partner too. Here, they have won their match!

In the other photograph, we can see Pi Hongyang, she is the second best player in the world.

I have been practising Badminton for seven years. I train two or three times a week : on mondays, fridays and saturdays. I take part in competitions (at week-ends). I have about two competitions a month. Last year, I went to Nancy, for an important national competition. I'm a ranked player, I'm D3. Badminton is my favourite sport, I love it ! And,...I advise you to try it!darr_l_1.jpg
