Une lettre à un auteur mort, un petit bijou de culture, d'humour et de fantaisie. Laissez-vous surprendre, savourez.

Dear Mr. Georges Orwell,

Let me please introduce myself. My name is Lancelot. I am a French student and I’m living in Paris. I’m writing this letter because someone asked me to do this. In fact, this is my French teacher. Telling the truth, she is always asking some weird things. The last time for instance, we had to create a text where an object would talk. But let’s play the game !

So we had to choose a dead writer and write a letter to him. And i chose you because I loved your work in the book « 1984 ». The story, the world you thought about and the way your turned this into words are amazing for me. When I read this book for the first time I was still thinking about it days after.

And the end is very surprising because this is the most logical end and I read so many books where the end was beautiful, a happy end as we call it. And the end of “1984“ is so terrible because so logical… And there are so many other great ideas in this book.

Last, the critic of the URSS is very well thought. What else can I say? Thank you for your amazing work. I will soon read “ Animal Farm“, I promise.

Yours sincerely,

Lancelot Mairesse.
