This movie was released in 2010 and realized by one of the most famous street artist ever : Banksy. It's a kind of documentary about both the mysterious, illegal and controversial world of Street Art, and a peculiar person called Thierry Guetta (aka « Mr.Brainswash »).
It's really fascinating and interesting because we see the « behind the scene » of an art which surrounds us. An art that can be ephemeral or long lasting; violent, shocking, or on the contrary, stunning and entertaining. It's an art that represents freedom, since it is, first of all, illegal. In fact, this movie also shows the ingenious and creative ways street artists realize their artworks without being caught. Their art can either conveys a message – that can be controversial, political, etc- or to brighten our urban environment with lively and colorful artworks and using the buildings features.
Moreover, it teaches us than there's way more than simple « gratifies »: stickers, sculptures, murals, and many more are all part of Street Art. It also introduces us to a few famous street artists, such as Invader and Shepard Fairey.
As far as I am concerned, there isn't a single moment when I was bored: it jumped from something funny to something shocking to something moving, etc… This is definitely a must-see which represents perfectly the modern hidden world street art.
