Our village: Châtel

Hello from the 5e1!

During our ski trip, we stayed in Châtel.

Châtel is situated in Haute-Savoie (French Alps). The population is about 1770 inhabitants. The things we like about this town are the ski slopes, the beautiful landscape and the snow!

In Châtel, there are some restaurants, a night club, a souvenir shop, a bakery, some clothes' shops, and a lot of sports and ski shops.

There is also a shop with a big Saint-Bernard. It's a typical dog of the mountains. It saves people.

Châtel is full of snow, there is a ski resort and a lots of wooden cabins.

It is a bit small but it's really cosy.

The only thing we don't like is the cold temperature. Things are also a bit expensive.

Our cabin in Chatel:

There are 3 floors and two basements.

The bedrooms on the first floor are for girls and the bedrooms on the second and the third floors are for boys.

In the basement, there is a playing room with table footballs, tennis tables, a stage for shows, and lots of boardgames.

On the ground floor, there is a big canteen and a kitchen. There is also a big hall, the teacher's room and an infirmary.

In our rooms, there are bunk bed , a small bathroom with a shower, toilets and a washbasin. There is also a table, a chair, shelves and a place to put our clothes.

In the second basement, there is a room for skis and ski shoes.

A typical day in Châtel

A typical day :

We wake up at 7 a.m. and take a breakfast.

Then, we check the planning : ski in the morning, lunch and then, snowshoeing or lessons about life in the mountains.

Later, there is a snack. Sometimes we play games.

Sometimes we go shopping for souvenirs in the village

On the slopes, or where there is snow : snowball fights !

In the evening : dinner (always a soup , yucky!)

After dinner : free time in our rooms.

Tartiflette (cheese, potatoes, bacon, cream and onions) is delicious !

Creuzets (a square pasta cooked like a tartiflette) is okay.

All the cheese was all right: Camembert, Tomme, Saint Nectaire, Comté, Abondance.
