This movie deals with the Khmer Rouge occupation of Cobamgia. The film is focused on the history of Rithy Panh’s family. Rithy Panh is a director of Cambogian origin and is the director of the film. He spent his childhood and teenage years in Cambogia under the oppression of the Red Khmers.

The movie is very locks in historical images or videos because during the Red Khmer's  occupation a few images or videos were filmed because filming material was destroyed by the government. To replace these images the movie have c

hosen to replace real people by clay figurines who represent the Cambodians peoples. The movie is poor in violence or images shock. The movie is pretty weird to me because I have never seen a movie like him. The missing picture in reality is the movies because for Rithy Panh the Khmer Rouge’s revolution is very important for world’s history and like I have say they have not a lot of archive in this period and create this proper picture of this episode whose Panh have live for people can be inform on this period. The idea of clay’s figurines is for me a very good idea because the figurine are realistic but in a same time malformed that create a good metaphor of the memories of Rithy Panh because this souvenirs are not really fresh or recent. But for me the most important problem of the movie is this rhythm: is so slow! All situations make a lot of slow minute to be explain. But for me the best quality of this movie is this objectivity on Khmer Rouge’s episode.

In conclusion is a good movie but the rythm of the film ruins some passage which could have been excellent otherwise
