Paul BOCUSE, born on February 11th, 1926 and died on January 20th, 2018 in his Collonges Bridge Inn at Collonges-au-Mont-d'Or near Lyon, is considered as the greatest French chef. Three stars in the Michelin Guide since 1965, he is one of the most famous cooks in the world, one of the masters of traditional cuisine, and the great kitchen, precursor of the new kitchen.
He was named Cook of the Century by Gault and Millau and Pope of Gastronomy in 1989, then Chef of the Century in 2011 by The Culinary Institute of America
He runs numerous restaurants in Lyon and around the world, including the gourmet restaurant L'Auberge du Pont de Collonges in Collonges-au-Mont-d'Or and founded the Bocuse d'Or in 1987, a gastronomy contest.
