Synopsis:
In Oregon, Mia, seventeen years-old, fascinated of cello and classical music since she was young.
She always lived in the world of music because her dad was in a rock band. She’s secretly in love of Adam and she thought he was unapproachable but he’s became interested by her when he hear Mia plays cello. It’s the beginning of their love story. They are really different because Adam is in a rock band and go to a tour whereas Mia wants to pursue her musical dream at Julliard Academy. One day, while the school was closed, her family decided to visit her grandparents but an accident hurried her in a parallel world.
Mia reminds the moment of her life and a dilemma is posed to her.
Stay or die.
Positive Thing: I was pleased to see that this movie is good and we can approach the different character. We have a good atmosphere. Also we can love the flash-back who allows understanding the story. We have a good picture of a funny and captivating family. This movie is well realise and filme with notable camera effect, and the main character plays well, we can appreciate her feelings. The soundtrack is really good, it’s a mixture of rock-pop and classical music. I have a part of fun, I laugh many time. I really appreciate the concept of memories because that gives originality and quality to this film.
Negative Point: To my mind this movie is reserved for the teenager or romantic person who be romantic film-goer. I found a lot of cliché and I don't really like that because it's fake and unoriginal. I’m not really romantic so I found this movie a little bit soppy. Otherwise we have a good time.
Characters:
Mia Hall is very shy and not sociable but she's calm and mature. She's a realy good violonist.
Adam is a good singer and guitarist. He's very sociable and mysterious and that give it to him a "charm" but he don't have family so he is a little bit sensitive.
Denis Hall, the father of Mia is very sympatic and funny. He's a old punk and he has play in the 'Echymoses" group, he stop him carrer when Teddy born because he wants to be the best father. Now he's a english teacher.
Kathleen Hall named Kath, is the mother of Mia and she's a old groupie of the group "Echymoses". She is a super mom and a travel agent at part-time. She's very cool and funny and out of sync but in the good way
Theodor Hall or "Teddy" is the little brother of Mia. He's hyperactive children. Fan of rock but not after the 80's.
Kim is the bestfriend of Mia and she's a photograph. She's kind and sociable.
As for me , If I stay, is a good movie with a great atmosphere but very very soppy ! The soundtrack is realy good and the caracters play well. If you want read the book "If I stay" I think you can have more details and this book has a following "Where she went". This film is credible.
