Thanksgiving is an American holiday. It is on the 4th Thursday of November. In 1620, pilgrims came to America to escape religious persecution. Indians helped them to find food. On Thanksgiving, American people say thank you for the food they have. Families have a big dinner all together. On that day, there are also big parades in many cities. Families watch football matches on TV or go to stadiums. Thanksgiving Day is the beginning of the Christmas shopping season!
