That's Colin Kaepernick who's a NFL player. Earlier this year he became the new Nike ambassador and he's mostly famous for being the first football player to kneel during the American National Anthem as a sign of protest against police brutality towards the black community, something he has been criticized for by many and most notably Donald Trump. That being said, I don't know exactly what this picture is showing but I'm guessing he's giving an acceptance speech for a medal he was congratulated with. The way he's dressed and the background makes me think it's not a sport related reward but rather something for his implication in the black lives matter movement or simply for his activism and dedication. If it's football related, then he might have been named best player of the season or something similar, but I don't know enough about the NFL to go further with this.
On this picture we can see the famous NFL's player, more precisly the famous quarterback Colin Kaepernick. He received the "WEB du bois" medal. He was rewarded by Harvard University and the medal is considered the highest dictinction of Harvard for people who contribute to African and Americain cultures.
For exemple Muhammed Ali received the medal in 2015. Colin Kaepernick fight against racial discrimination. Indeed, in 2016 he knelt down during the American anthemm to protest against police blunder.
hello miss!
this month's picture shows us Colin Kaepernick wearing the medal of honor. In fact, the former quarterback participates in militant actions and is recognized for his militancy because he refuses to ignore or accept racial discrimination, which annoys Donald TRump. Alongside Nike, Colin Kaepernick boycott the national anthem. The medal he won then is a gift from Harvard and it's the "highest honor in the field of African and African American studies" and is given "to individuals in the United States and across the globe in recognition of their contributions to African and African American culture and the life of the mind.". On this picture, he is probably thanking Harvard, who gave him his medal.
This man's name is Colin Kapernick. He is a former professional football player. He was in turmoil after kneeling in the American anthem. He did this to protest against police violence against minorities and against racism in general. Donald Trump had taken advantage of this during the presidential election to criticize him what has of course much liked to his electorate. He became the muse of Nike not long ago. In this picture, he was surely rewarded for his very courageous anti-racist commitment.
Well done :) You're doing really well !
How about this other photo ? What does it refer to and what's your opinion on this ?
We can see on this picture the famous football player of the National Football League, Colin Kaepernick. The desk, the microphone and the medal he wears around his neck suggest that the latter is being honored for a special occasion. Indeed, last october, Colin Kaepernick received the « W.E.B du bois Medal » by the Harvard Academy considered to be the highest distinction of this University in the field of African and Afro-American Studies. This honor is given to people in the United States and around the World in recognition of their contributions to African and African-American culture and the Life of the Spirit. Colin Kaepernick protests against racism in the United States and police violence against minorities, especially when he knelt on the ground during the American anthem or with the advertising campaign of the sports brand Nike. This distinction is in memory of William Edward Burghardt Du Bois, African American sociologist, activist for equal rights for black people.
Oh yes ! This picture shows the famous football player Colin Kaepernick.
He wears a medal of honor around his neck honoring his participation in several different militant actions but especially for his commitment to refuse any act of discrimination or racism. Donald Trump had previously criticized this during the presidential elections in the United States.
In the second picture, the NFL player was then chosen by Nike as an ambassador for his advertising campaign celebrating the 30th anniversary of his "Just do it". We can see a burning Nike shoe showing commitment to this commitment of anti-racism by Colin Kaepernick and his famous phrase "Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything."
Hello,
We can see on this picture a famous NFL player Colin Kaepernick. This picture represent a ceremony held for his participation of militant actions. He has a medal which is kind of thanks about that.
This football player, Colin Kaepernick, launched the boycott of the American anthem. Before the NFL games, he then put one of his knees on the ground to protest police violence against blacks.
The equipment manufacturer Nike has made it his muse, what divides America.
Some support his fight and other consider him a traitor (like Donald Trump).
The boycott of the brand has multiplied, some even burn their sneakers as on the second picture.
In terms of my opinion on that, I think his political commitment is selling and so both parties have good reason to join.
One gets his message to a wider audience and the other makes more money (six billion).
HELLO! The pic of the month show a very famous NFL player, Colin Kaepernick. The quaterback figths against police violence in the United States. He is the new face of Nike which sparked a big controversy in the American Nation. This is why in the second picture, we can see nike shoes burning because a lot of people don’t agree with Colin Kaepernick.
In the first picture, we can see Kaepernick Colin the famous americain football ex-quarterback who played for the San Francisco 49 ers from 2011 to 2016.
He is famous for his marks of protest in the NFL Match. During the National anthem of America, he puts his knee on the ground to protest against racism and police violence.
He was followed by some members of his team. But, he was also criticized for doing this.
It’s for this reason that we find him on this picture. The medal around his neck makes me think that he received a reward.
On his Twitter, we can see this picture and I know that Harvard University honored him for the « W.E.B du Bois Medal ». This medal is considered as the highest distinction of Harvard for people who contribute to African and American studies.
But also, he has been ambassador Nike for sometimes, and on the Nike compaign, we can see Colin and the words « Believe in something even if it means sacrificing everything »
He was referring to his protest. That’s why some fans decided to burn their shoes to show their dissatisfaction of Nike’s campaign ( picture 2) .
I think he is courageous and it’s a good way to denunce what is happening in our society.
Hi there, it’s me again !
I tend to think this picture of Colin Kaepernick was taken because he has become the new muse of the well known brand « Nike ». The famous American football player who interrupted the singing of « The Splangled Banner » during a match has been chosen by Nike to represent the brand. Unfortunately for Nike, this partnership with M.Kaepernick made them a bad reputation with the Republicans American. Indeed, lots of people have tweeted that they won’t support Nike industries anymore ‘cause their muse didn’t show much respect to the country he’s been born. Did Nike do well by choosing him to be its muse ? Will the Americans still buy Nike’s sneakers and other products ? The President of the United States

The President of the United States made a declaration addressed to his citizens to express his disapproval regarding the choice Nike Industry has made.
