214 - a few facts about selfies : infographics

Infographic #1 gives examples on how social media help us post and share our selfies : Facebook in particular, as well as twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.

Front facing cameras and selfie sticks also made things easier.

Infographic #2 shows the evolution of selfies through time. Van Gogh already painted himself. The infographics also deals with the different types of selfies : people take selfies when they are sleeping, when they are eating, when they are trying on new clothes in a shop, etc.

  • Choose 3 documents depending on your level of English
  • Listen, take notes, sum up in English what you understood
  • OR listen, take notes, sum up in French what you understood
  • OR write the script of the audio document
  • Once your script was checked by your teacher, listen and repeat or read the whole document outloud

These practice exercises are essential for you to improve your oral skills (comprehension and expression).

Yesterday Elisabeth II became the longest-reigning monarch in British history. She has been reigning for 63 years and 214 days, thus surpassing Queen Victoria. She will turn 90 in April. However her birthday will only be celebrated in June. She started reigning over the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth in 1952.
