Looking forward to the posters for new clubs in Mandel!
How much money will Americans spend on Halloween this year? If you guessed $7 billion, you’re (probably) right. That’s a lot of candy, but it’s actually a little less than the amount we spent on All Hallow’s Eve last year.
Scary, right?
According to the National Retail Federation, last year’s spending was $77.52 per person. This year it is expected to drop to $74.34 per person.
You might be surprised to learn that most of that money goes toward costumes for adults, not kids. Americans will likely dish out millions of dollars for pet costumes, too. Candy will run about $2.1 billion overall.
In the unlikely event that you have leftover treats, there’s a sweet option for you. Many dentist offices across the country participate in the Halloween Candy Buy Back program, in which they buy back extra candy and send it in care packages to troops overseas. If the candy doesn’t leave you smiling, your good deed should!
