1 . INTRODUCTION OF THE MONUMENT

 

The University of Oxford is a university with many Colleges (39). Every student belongs to the College he has chosen. In every College there is a sport team.

Christ Church College was built in 1525 by Cardinal Wolsey and then by Henri VIII in 1532.

 

It is situated in Oxford near the Natural Museum of History and near the Bridge of Sighs.

Inside the College there is a cathedral. There are 30 000 students. Several celebrities studied there, such as Hugh Jackman and Rowan Atkinson (the very famous Mister Bean).

Lewis Carol (who wrote Alice in Wonderland) was a teacher at Christ Church College,. Some scenes of Harry Potter have been shot there.

2. PRACTICAL INFORMATION

                         

The price of the visit is £7 for an adult and £6 for a child or a student.

Opening hours are from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

And on Sunday from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

We can go there on foot and by bus.

 

3. TOURISTIC INFORMATION

What can you see near Christ Church College ?

 

This is Carfax : it is a big clock considered as the center place of the city.
