Bastien Kurtz report for The Historical Magazine ,on October 20th 1968.

We are in Mexico City on October 18th 1968,Tommie Smith won the 200 meters dash near an Australian and John Carlos .During the medal ceremony remittances the Americans fighters raised their fists during the American anthem and as the result of this event was disqualification because they supported the black power movement .It was the greatest gesture of protest of Olympics Games. Many have hailed the move so that the people have the same rights as us while some people were outraged. And a few people were most outraged. In the end the US Olympic Comittee decides to suspend them.

The white justice defeated black protest movement as in South Africa. Then a movement organised by white people demontrated in the streets to qualif the American sprinters but it's isn't listed. For the American,Tommie Smith won this race and John Carlos finished 3rd . They have many protestation gesture and have their medal but when it's a black people protest his was disqualifed also we are in discrination governement .Today many museums have a sculpture of Tommie Smith and John Carlos who make gesture to the sky and now the black american have the same laws as white people. They were the beautiful gesture of protest on the world
