Today, I want to talk about the Australian artist James Cochran, aka Jimmy C, born on the 4th of June 1973 in England. He is known for his urban narrative paintings and for his drip painting style.

When we were in London, we could admire many interesting pieces of street art, but the one that most marked me was « Joe's Kid » by Jimmy C, it is situated on Brick Lane. It was the last work that we saw during the visit of London streets. The guide told us the story about this piece, which made the work even touching and warm. This is a portrait of the owner of the cafe, on where this work of art has been painted, when she was aged 3 with her grandfather Joe, who owned a cafe in London’s East End during the 1930s. Now the girl in the portrait carries on the tradition with her cafe, aptly named Joe’s Kid. Stunning work and great to see the first portrait by Jimmy C in London. It was made in 2015.

James Cochran seems to be a very mysterious artist... I searched for informations about him on the internet but unfortunately, I didn't find any picture of him. I still post the picture of his work, taken by me on Brick Lane:
