I have chosen an amazing work of art: a painting named "Oooh...Alright..." by Roy Lichtenstein. This work of art belongs to the movement of American pop art that was born in the 1960's. It deals mainly with the development of new technologies. We can find many major artists such as Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol or Jasper Johns.
But I would like to talk about Roy Liechtenstein. He is a New Yorker, a 20th century painter. He was inspired by advertisements, comics and the popular imagery of his time to realize these original paintings.
They are realized with primary colors, with stencils and some oil paints to leave no defect. As materials, he used plastic like plexiglas. His work was extremely meticulous.
In this painting, we can observe that the skin of the character is made up of red dots and also that the black outlines have been extremely precisely well drawn. The lively colors convey an impression of cheerfulness, life and a kind of dynamism to his painting.
I find his work so impressive, I love his paintings. I really love the expressions on the characters' faces and the lively colors.
If I had to use adjectives to qualify this work of art, I would say it's colorful, flashy, lively, modern, original and just nice.
